Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Commitment:

ASRC Industrial is committed to building a diverse, safe, welcoming, and inclusive work culture.

We believe in this commitment because it is the right thing to do and because it aligns with our enterprise purpose, “to leave things better than we found them.” Building a better workplace that is inclusive and supportive of all does just that.

Mission:

Empowering our people to realize their maximum potential in an environment of respect and equity is central to our values. We welcome the diverse perspectives, contributions, and ideas from the broad spectrum of voices across our enterprise. By listening to and learning from our people we not only become a better place to work, we also become a better partner to our clients to help solve their unique challenges.

Our mission reflects the values of our owners, the  Iñupiaq shareholders of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC). Integrity and respect for each other are two of ASRC’s core values, which we share and guide us in embracing diversity at all levels.

Goals:

  1. Fully realize and continually refresh our pledge to create a Culture of CARE.
  2. Gather insights from our people to understand their broad range of perspectives and foster belonging.
  3. Ensure that our clients receive the highest quality service from our talented team members.
  4. Become a destination employer recognized internally and externally for living by our values.
  5. Support shareholder development through internship and career opportunities at both the corporate level and within our operating companies.

Our Commitment to Sustainability:

ASRC Industrial recognizes its environmental, social, and ethical responsibilities as an Alaska Native Corporation owned entity. Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) is more than just a reporting framework; it is directly tied to our mission to enhance our Iñupiaq shareholders’ cultural and economic freedom – with continuity, responsibility and integrity. ESG factors continue to shape the expectations of our stakeholders, and we are dedicated to monitoring trends in ESG reporting, recognizing ESG holistically and continuing to improve understanding of climate and ESG-related risks and opportunities.

ANC Advantage

In 2015, API was acquired by ASRC Industrial, a wholly owned entity of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC), an Alaska Native Corporation. Due to this ownership, API is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) and has access to multiple sister operating company resources.

Established by the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) of 1971, ASRC represents and is 100% owned by more than 13,500 Iñupiat shareholders. Section 1626(e) of ANCSA states:

For all purposes of Federal law, direct or indirect subsidiary corporations, joint ventures, and partnerships of a Native Corporation shall be considered to be entities owned and controlled by Natives and a minority and economically disadvantaged business enterprise if the shares of stock or other units of ownership interest in any such entity held by such Native Corporation and by the holders of its Settlement Common Stock represent a majority of both.

Contracting with API can help you meet your diversity spending objectives while also helping improve quality of life across North Slope Alaska Native villages.
